Dialogue for Change

Heraclitus (540 BC – 480 BC) wrote, “Nothing endures but change.”  Centuries later the notion of change still permeates our thoughts and perplexes the best and brightest.  Change incorrectly managed may create crises.  Change can create progression, wealth, havoc, or loss.  The constant in any change equation is the need for a consistently evolving plan.

Strategy and planning are organic.  The era of “C” suite leaders meeting for a weekend and publishing a three inch binder filled with strategy to guide the organization for the next ten to fifteen years is long gone.  More often than note, these plans were used to hold up shelves and collect dust; only to be referenced periodically as justification for an action.

As a child, my parents gave me a magic eight ball.  The toy combined with an Ouija Board was all my friends and I needed to plan our future.  Later in life one of my supervisors always would say, “Trust the decision of the board.”  Change occurs with or without our consent.  Without our engagement, the probability of success, growth, or profitability is as good as asking the magic eight ball.

The wide array of experiences, sites of care, systems, business models and clinical science that comprise an organization demands consistent learning, thinking, and sharing.

Our objective is to be positioned at the center of change.  You are invited to join the change and begin a dialogue with the real leaders of industry change – you and me.
